Parents arrested for torturing 6 yr old daughter

Puttur, Apr 21, 2014: A  six year old girl who was  being subject to continuous  torture by her mother and step-father has been rescued  by the SDPI and the PFI leaders   who have admitted the girl to the Puttur Government Hospital on April 19, Saturday.

 

 

Fauziya, the mother of the girl and Shafi, her step-father have been arrested. They havebeen produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Fahima was born to Fauziya out of her first marriage with Farooq. Later when Farooq abandoned Fauzia, she had married Shafi of Belthangady. The couple who stayed with Fahima at Bannur in Puttur for some time were reportedly torturing her continuously. A complaint was also lodged once with Puttur town police and the case settled through talks.

The couple had then shifted to Belthangady and on Friday night reportedly tortured the little girl by injuring  her legs and thighs with a knife and even pressing cigarette butts on her neck. Neighbours who came to know about this had informed the SDPI leaders who rescued the girl and admitted her to government hospital.

Her condition is said to be critical.
