Panic attack ’four killed on rail tracks’ at Thokkottu?

Mangalore, May 24, 2014:Media lensmen rushed to vulnerable spot  at Thokkottu to cover ’news of four persons’ dying in a rail accident’. Police too arrived. Fortunately for some it turned out to be a hoax. Four goats were found to have been run over by train a few hours back.

There was huge crowd as can be expected - then the question was whose goats were these?

When no one seemed to claim, the ’victims’ were quietly taken away by unknown elements - some people must be enjoying sumptuous mutton biriyani somewhere!

It will not be right if all concerned authorities and the Railways in particular are  urgently requested to take note on the fact that a regular unauthorised  crossing for public is created behind the Thokkottu market which is existing for several years and has seen loss of many lives. It is high time that some concrete action is initiated to make safe and secure arrangements for the public users at this spot without delay.
