Palemar inaugurates new girls’ hostel for Karnataka Polytechnic

Mangalore, July 19: Krishna J. Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, inaugurated a brand new girls’ hostel for Karnataka Polytechnic on Tuesday at Kadri. The hostel has 2 stories and 14 rooms and Rs. 60 lakh has been spent in constructing it.

Speaking on the occasion, Palemar said that Rs. 2.90 crore will be spent on constructing Industrial Training Institutes in the district. He also said that the government has sanctioned Rs. 1 crore each for the construction of a girls’ hostel and hostels for the backward classes and minorities in the district.

Admitting that schools and colleges lack teachers, he said that the government will take the required steps to recruit required staff members.

Palemar also said that the girls’ hostel will be equipped within 2 months.

Mahabala Suvarna, a Class I contractor, who constructed the hostel, was felicitated on the occasion.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, the MP of Mangalore; N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly; MLA U. T. Khader; and Dr. B. Madhava Bhandary, the president of the Mangalore Urban Development Authority; and many others were also present.
