Udupi, April 22, 2018: Udupi District BJP President Mattar Ratnaker Hegde has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Udupi on May 1.

The Prime Minister who will arrive from Mangaluru by a helicopter. From the Adi Udupi helipad he will head straight to the Sri Krishna Mutt  and also meet Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt.

This was informed to reporters here on April 22, Sunday by Udupi District BJP President Mattar Ratnaker Hegde. He said the Prime Minister will also  address a public meet at the MGM College grounds.

No confusion over candidate selection: Mattar said  there was no confusion over selection of candidates for all the five constituencies in Udupi district. He also exuded confidence that the party would win in all five seats.

On Shiroor seer contesting as an independent,  Hegde said  they have already met the seer on Friday and expressed confidence  that the seer would withdraw his nomination.

He also stated that  party candidates from Udupi, Karkala and Kaup will be filing their nomination on April 23. Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar will file his nomination after a huge meet at Kukkundur which will be participated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Singh will also be visiting the Krishna Mutt and later will participate in an interaction programme at Manipal.

Party leaders MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, Yashpal Suvarna, Ravi Amin and others were  present.
