Oscar’s ex-employee threaten ’s hunger strike, says Rs 6.07 lakh salary due

Udupi, Mar 27, 2018: A person named Ambalpady  Gopal Poojari who claims to be an  ex-employee of Rajya Sabha Member and senior Congressman Oscar Fernandes, has alleged that  Oscar has not  paid his salary amounting to Rs 6.07 lakhs for nearly 15 years from 1972 to 1987. He has also threatened to stage a hunger strike  at Freedom Park in Bengaluru from April 2 onwards.


ex-employee 2Poojary said he had complained regarding this with Sonia Gandhi way back in 1995 and that Sonia had asked  Oscar to do the needful. However Oscar did nothing except paying Rs 10,000 he added.

As Oscar has not  helped me even at the time of my daughter’s wedding,  I have realised I will not get my due salary and have decided to  stage hunger strike. If  my demand is still not fulfilled,  I will forgo my life, he  warned.

He said he has written to Oscar 15 days ago along with a letter from the Labour Officer and  added copies of the same have been sent to the CM, district minister, KPCC Chief and DC.

Gopal Poojary’s wife Chanchala was also present.
