Orofacial Pain Clinic inaugurated at A B. Shetty Memorial institute of Dental Sciences

Mangaluru, June 11, 2019: Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor (Admin) of Nitte University inaugurated the Orofacial Pain Clinic at the Dept of Oral Medicine & Radiology of A.B.Shetty Memorial institute of Dental Sciences on Tuesday, 11th June 2019.

Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the starting of the Orofacial Pain Clinic and stated that more good work needs to be done for making the dental college achieve the top position. The college is presently ranked among the 2ndbest dental college in India among the Private dental colleges.

Prof Dr Rajkumar Alle President of Karnataka State Dental Council was the Guest of honour and wished all the best for the dental college for achieving higher goals.

Prof.Dr.Krishna Nayak Principal & Dean of A.B.Shetty Memorial institute of Dental Sciences delivered the welcome address and stated that this is One of the First of its kind in the Country where Specialists from various Branches of Dentistry including Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery etc and few Medical Specialists like Neurologist, Neuro Surgeon, Psychiatrist, General Surgeon, ENT Surgeon, Physiotherapist etc will be co-opted for inclusion in the Panel of Specialists which will deal with all kinds of “Pain in the Orofacial region”.


Orofacial Pain Clinic at AB Shetty Dental College


The inaugural programme was followed with CDE Program on Diagnosis and Management of Orofacial Pain. Prof. (Dr.) Ravikiran Ongole, Prof& Head, Dept of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore gave insight regarding the importance  of Clinical diagnosis and talked in detail on the medical management of Orofacial Pain. Dr Shruthi Hegde Co-Ordinator of Orofacial Pain Clinics gave a brief overview of the need for the Orofacial Pain Clinics.

Prof Dr G Subhas Babu Prof & Head Dept of Oral Medicine & Radiology delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Supriya Bhat Lecturer Dept of Oral Medicine & Radiology was the MC and compered the program.
