Oriyardori Asal team honored on 118th successful day

Mangalore, Sep 21: Roopalakshmi Films, which produced the record breaker Tulu movie Oriyardori Asal honored the entire Asal team, including actors and technicians responsible for its success, at a special event held at Town Hall today. The movie has successfully completed 118 days. 


Moodubidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain inaugurated the event and said that Oriyardori Asal is now the longest running Tulu Film, which is fast approaching its 125th day. The film has recorded 2000 screenings in theaters all over Karnataka and is expected to run for several more days, he added.

Vijayakumar Kodialbail, the artiste behind the story, dialogue, screenplay, and lyrics of the film, said that he gained the inspiration to make this film from all the other 40 Tulu films released so far.


He also said that the people of Tulunad supported him, irrespective of caste, community, and religion. The large number of people gathered in Town Hall is a great honor, he added. 


B. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority, presented mementos to each member of the Asal team and said that the film has breathed new life into the Tulu film industry.


He also expressed hopes that more Tulu films will be made in future and that Tulu lifestyle, culture, and language will be popularized throughout the country. 


Machchendranath Pandeshwar; Dhanraj, the director of Koti Chennayya; and Manohar Prasad, the Udayavani bureau chief, were also honored with mementos on the occasion. 


MP Nalin Kumar Kateel presided over the event. Janashri News Channel sponsored the event.
