Udupi, Feb 9, 2015: KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar has accused the opposition BJP and the JD(S) of hurling unnecessary allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Arkavathi denotification issue.
Speaking to the media at the District Congress Office on February 8, Sunday, Parameshwar said both the opposition parties however have so far failed in furnishing evidences to support their claims. “Let them produce constructive evidence if any before the Kempayya Commission,” said Parameshwar and recalled how the Congress had in the past lodged complaint against Yeddyurappa with the Lokayukta with evidence.”
On the cabinet expansion issue, Parameshwar said it is left to the discretion of the Chief Minister and at the same time added that the Cabinet will be expanded soon. To another question, Parameshwar said it is upto the party leadership to decide if he should be part of the cabinet.
On the Brahmavar sugar factory issue, the KPCC Chief said technical matters are presently under discussion and hoped the government would find a good solution to the impasse. He also stated that Rs 12 crore grant has been released to clear the dues of sugarcane growers.
The KPCC Chief later addressed a party workers meeting. Vinay Kumar Sorake, Udupi in-charge Minister, Pramod Madhwaraj, Gopal Poojari, Legislators, Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Yuvaraj, Udupi CMC President, Niveditha Alva, Coastal Development Authority Chairman and others were present.
