Udupi, July 3,2017 : Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt has said that the protests held opposing the Iftar Koota organised at Sri Krishna Mutt were the heights of intolerance.
Speaking to reporters here, the seer said it was absolutely wrong to stage protests at this juncture when the society needs harmony between different religions. "Why are they protesting ? What has happened to Hinduism ?Why should the Mutt be cleansed ? These protests have not disturbed me. I am carrying out my daily activities as usual," the seer said.
"I have not insulted Hindu dharma. Those who raise a clamour have no knowledge about scriptures. Will fight whenever injustice is done to Hinduism and will also maintain cordial relationships with other religions, the seer asserted.
The Pejawar seer said he would not react to Mutalik’s remarks."I had organised the Iftar Koota with a good intention in mind," he said.
Asked if he would organise Iftar Koota even next year, the seer said " I will not be the Paryaya seer next year. No decision can be taken in this regard as of now. Let us see," he said.
