Online taxi drivers stage protest against fuel price hike

Mangaluru, Mar 09, 2021:     A  protest was staged in front of the Clock Tower on March 9, Tuesday  by the DK District Online Taxi Drivers’ Association to condemn the hike in fuel prices and to  pay the rates fixed by the government to Ola, Uber and other  taxi operators.

 

 

 

B K Imtiyaz, President of the Association said the  hike in fuel prices has hit hard the taxi drivers who find it difficult to pay EMIs and also to make two ends meet.

The state budget too has disappointed the taxi drivers, he said  and added that the Ola and Uber drivers would resort to an indefinite protest if the demands were not met with.
