One arrested for attempt of theft at Corporation Bank ATM Attavar

Mangaluru, Jan 11 2019: The Pandeshwar Police has arrested a person on a failed theft attempt at the Corporation Bank ATM, Attawar Katte, in Mangaluru city on January 11, 2019. The person is identified as  Jayaraj aged 44 from Thokkottu.

The police arrested him on suspicion when he was found roaming in Attavar in the early hours of January 10. After questioning, Jayaraj had confessed that he entered the ATM at around 2 AM and tried to break the ATM machine to loot money. However, he could succeed in his attempt.

Jayaraj had broken the ATM monitor but could not open the cash chest.  A passer by found something suspicious happening in the ATM and alerted the police. Jayaraj aborted the plan came out of the ATM when police arrived and picked him. He had covered his face which lead to the police nabbing him.

The ATM - CCTV footage revealed the rest to prove him to be the culprit.
