Onam celebrations help in uniting people of all faiths: Minister Rai

Mangaluru, Sep 11, 2016:  The Onam festival which is mainly celebrated by Keralites is a festival that unites people of all faiths and helps in promoting religious harmony and brotherhood, said DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha  Rai.

 

He was speaking after inaugurating ’Onam Sambhrama’ organised by the Kerala Samajam at Milagres Auditorium   on September 10, Saturday. Celebrating such festivals gains more  prominence in the present times when the region has become more communally sensitive, he said.

T K Rajan, President of Kerala Samajam presided over the function. JR Lobo, MLA, A Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of Shreedevi Educational Institute, AJ Shetty, Chairman of AJ Group of Institutions, Vijay Kumar, Kerala Samajam Vice President and others were present.
