Subrahmanya, Dec 28, 2014: As many as 62 devotees performed Ede Snana  instead of the controversial Made Snana  at the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple  on December 27, Saturday on the occasion of Kiru Shashti Mahotsava following a stay order issued to Made Snana by the Apex Court.

The Ede Snana was performed at the outer precincts of the Temple after the Mahapooja in the afternoon.   Made Snana ritual  was performed at the Kshetra during the recent Champa Shashti celebrations as during previous years  after the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order banning Made Snana. However on Saturday following a recent SC order banning Made Snana,  devotees performed Ede Snana and rolled over 432 plantain leaves on which Prasadam or Naivedya was offered to the Lord and later consumed by the seven cows of the temple.

However, Bhasker Bendodi, State President of Adivasi Budakatta Jananga, said the Supreme Court while banning Made Snana has not suggested holding of Ede Snana. He also stated that  performing Ede Snana was  in violation of court orders.
