Oct 10 to be observed as Tulu Script Day

Mangaluru, Oct 11, 2020: Tulu Sahitya Academy President Dayananda Kattalsar has announced that October 10 will be observed as Tulu Script Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Pundur Venkataraja Puninchittaya in recognition of his yeoman contributions towards Tulu script and literature.

Kattalsar was speaking on the occasion of Pu.Vem. Pu. Nothonji Nempu" and  "Tulu Lipi Dinoku Leppu," on the occasion of the  84th birth anniversary of Dr Venkataraja Puninchittaya    at the Siri Chavadi of Tulu Bhavan on  Saturday. The function was organised by the Academy in association with Tulu World.

Prof P S Yadapadittaya, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University  inaugurated the programme.

Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar, Padekallu Vishnu Bhat, Tulu World President Rajesh Krishna Alva and many others were present.
