Nursing student way laid, tied to tree and robbed - suspects at large

Mangalore, Sep 12, 2014:  A nursing student of a city-based college. was walking towards Moodushedde from her house in Kudru near Adyapady At about 7 am on Sept 11 . It is said that the student had forgotten to bring her hall ticket for the examination that was scheduled for that day. She turned back and was going back to her home in a hurry get the hall ticket, when two men way laid her in a desolate area. They forcibly took away a gold chain around her neck, and cell phone and cash from her purse. It is yet to be ascertained if the girl was raped.


Nurse No one saw the incident, as it was a desolate area. The student was tied to a tree after she was drugged and unconscious till evening. A person, passing that way at around 7 pm, heard the cry of the girl and was rescued. 

Information was given to the locals and Kavoor police. A police team lead by Kavoor sub-inspector came to the spot, enquired and took the girl to the police station.

The nursing student in her preliminary satement  revealed that the assailants had sprayed some substance on her face and  she became unconscious. She was then tied to the tree with her scarf.  She recalled a prominent mole in the hand of one of the men. The police personnel have launched a man hunt to find the culprits with details gathered from the terrified victim.
