Nurse Hazels’s husband files legal notice to Consulate

Udupi, Dec 15, 2018: Ashwin Mathais husband of Hazel Jyotsna Mathais, a nurse who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia, has sent legal notices to the Indian consulate in UAE demanding more details on the cause of the death of his wife.

Hazel, hailing from Kuthyaru in Shirva, was working in Al Miqua General Hospital, run by the Health Ministry of Saudi Arabia.

Ashwin Mathais told media that the Indian consulate in UAE had kept the family in dark about the death of his wife.

He has also demanded a letter, written by his wife in Konkani prior to her death, which would help the family to know the cause of her death.

The 28-year-old Hazel Jyotsna Mathais was found dead on July 21, 2018.

She was working in the hospital for the past six years. It is said that the deceased had spoken to her husband last on July 19.

The family received the news of Hazel’s death from one of her colleagues.

They were shocked as there was no further details about the death.
