Nurse Hazel’s funeral to be held on September 28 at Shirva Church

Udupi, Sep 27: After a wait over two months, the mortal remains of nurse Hazel Jyotsna Mathias, who died under mysterious circumstances in Saudi Arabia, arrived at Bengaluru airport on Thursday, September 27. The funeral will be held on Friday 4.00pm at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva, according to her family.

Hazel had died at her stay in Soudi Arabia over two months back. Due to various legal complications, the process of repatriating her body to home was delayed. Mr. Denis Noronha, an entrepreneur in Saudi Arabia took all initiative in the process to bring the body. Denis Noronha said that Sheik Saud, president of NRI Forum of Saudi Arabia, has also helped in repatriating the body to India.

Hazel Jyotsna Mathias was working in the Al Miqua General Hospital in Abha province, Jeddah, from the last six years. Her last conversation with her family members and husband was on July 19. Two days later, her family received the shocking news that she was no more.Though it is communicated to her family that her death was due to her committing suicide, her family categorically denied that she could have done it.
