Notorious mobile phone thieves trapped

Kasargod, May 10, 2014 :   Manjeshwar police have arrested two notorious thieves wanted in connection with   the thefts in several mobile shops and jewellery houses.

Those arrested are Mohammad Rafique (26) of Kumble Kalattur and KG Saju (34) of Iriatti. 

The modus operandi  of the duo was to enter crowded mobile shops and steal high end mobile phones. One of them Rafique was trapped by public while he tried to  sell a stolen mobile in a shop in Kasargod.  He was later handed over to the police when the  facts came to light. Later Saju was arrested. It has now been learnt that tbey  had stolen mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees and sold the same.

Police said they were wanted in theft cases reported from Payyanur, Talachery, Kasargod and other places.

The duo are being subject to further interrogation.
