Bantwal: July 20, 2015: Normal life in most parts of State was badly affected due to incessant rains being witnessed for past 48 hours. Flood threats have loomed large in coastal region disrupting the normal lives.
The Netravati River in Bantwal has been flooded and has reached the limit of 7.5 mtrs which is just 1 meter away from the danger point.
The areas of Aladka, Panemangaluru, Jakribettu, Baddakatte and other nearby places have flooded causing problems to the people.
Bantwal Tahsildar Purandar Hegde said ’the home guards and fire brigade has been advised to be on standby duty’.
Normal life has also been affected in parts of Udupi, Kundapur and Bhatkal due to incessant downpour. Holiday was also declared for schools and colleges in Udupi district.
