None arrested in connection with unrest are Congress workers : Rai

Vittal, Aug 1, 2017 :  DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has said that there are no Congress workers among those arrested in connection with the recent communal strifes and murder cases reported from the district. "Those arrested belong to the Sangh Parivar and SDPI. But the BJP has made false publicity through WhatsApp," the minister alleged.

Rai was addressing party workers meeting held here on July 31, Monday on behalf of the Vittal-Uppinangady Block Congress Committee.

Taking a dig at MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje and Union Minister DVD Sadananda Gowda, Rai questioned whether the BJP leaders who  criticise Congress leaders have visited the  residences of  the slain  Ashraf and Jaleel Karopady.

"Shobha has been spreading lies. She has furnished wrong information to the Centre by  stating an alive man as dead, " Rai added.

State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader who also spoke accused the BJP of creating confusion in the minds of the public.

The meeting was inaugurated by AICC leader  Vishnunathan. MLA Shakuntala Shetty, DCC President Harish Kumar and others were present.
