Non-installation of CC Camera in Masjids irks DK DC Ibrahim

Mangaluru, Dec. 7, 2015: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim has expressed unhappiness over non installation of Closed Circuited (CC) cameras in most of the masjids by officials of Karnataka Wakf Boad.

Ibrahim was chaired a meeting to review long term measures taken to control crime and safety by various departments, religious places and organisations in the district here in Mangaluru on Monday.

Of the 605 mosques in DK district 95 major mosques comes under Wakf Board and only few mosques installed CC Camera as measure of safety. Deputy Commissioner pointed out that secretary of the Board of Wakf board should have taken measure to install CC cameras at least major mosques.

Deputy Commissioner has suggested to all religious, educational, financial, government offices, bus stops, train station, fishing ports, markets, movie theaters and other institutions to install CC Camera system on priority in order to mitigate increasing crimes, rape, stealing, stone pelting, fighting and others.

In the district, all 40 endowment administrated temples in the district installed CC Camera while 23 out 25  B category temples CC camera installed in the premises. Out of 427 Category C temples only 162 temple administration installed this device.
      
Measures are taken to install CC Cameras in all the 1975 primary and high schools in the district and a total of 620 school installed cc camera, DDPI Walter de. Mello informed the meeting.  Deputy Commissioner asked the police officials to inspect the quality and performance of CC camera installed in various places.

Deputy Commissioner has instructed Mangaluru Corporation Commissioner Gopalakrishna to install Cameras in all public markets and parks in the city. Superintendent of Police Dr.Sharanappa, , Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shantaram present in the meeting.
