Nomination papers of 10 DK candidates deemed valid; DEO rejects one candidate’s submission

Mangaluru, April 6, 2024: On Friday, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Mullai Muhilan of Dakshina Kannada announced that out of the 11 candidates who submitted their nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections, 10 have valid submissions.

The deadline for filing nomination papers was Thursday, April 4. The Dakshina Kannada DEO examined the 21 nomination papers received from the 11 candidates and found one candidate’s submission to be invalid, thus rejecting them.

Valid nomination papers were submitted by Padmaraj R of the Congress, Brijesh Chowta of the BJP, Kanthappa Alangar of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Durgaprasad of the Karunada Sevaka Paksha, Prajakeeya Manohar of the Uttama Prajakeeya Party, Ranjini M of Karnataka Rashtra Samiti, and Independent candidates Deepak Rajesh Coelho, Maxim Pinto, Satish Boodumakki, and Supreeth Kumar Poojary, according to Dakshina Kannada DEO Muhilan.

Candidates have until Monday, April 8, to withdraw their nomination papers.
