Mangaluru, Mar 4, 2017 : Even as there are rumours that Kumar Bangarappa will join BJP, his brother and Soraba MLA Madhu Bangarappa has said there was no such possibility.
Speaking to reporters here on March 4, Saturday, he said though the BJP might have invited him, he will not join the party. If he does so, it will only a betrayal to the ideals of our father Bangarappa, he added. He also stated that he too had received invitations from Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Kagodu Timmappa, but added that joining a party or not is left to one’s discretion.
Stating that all out efforts are being made to strengthen JD(S), he exuded confidence that the people would support HD Kumaraswamy.
Dubbing both the Congress and the BJP as two sides of the same coin, Madhu Bangarappa said the success of the bundh call given by the BJP and Sangh Parivar opposing Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s visit to Mangaluru has highlighted the law and order failure.
He slammed BJP State Chief Yeddyurappa who is facing several charges and even described Congress as a sinking ship.
He further hoped that the JD(S) would help establish itself in the district in the next elections.
