No invitation for peace meet : Muslim Committee questions dist admn

Mangaluru, July 17,2017 : The  Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District units of the Muslim Central Committee has expressed its strong resentment against the  district administration for not inviting it for the  peace meet convened in the city recently in the wake of the Bantwal disturbances.

Addressing press persons in the city on July 17, Monday,  KS Mohammad Masood, President of the Committee said that the Committee which has been functioning in the district since the past 49 years has been laying more emphasis on communal harmony. The Deputy Commissioner is answerable as to why the Committee was not invited for the peace meet, he said adding that the Committee has already written a letter to the administration in this regard.

 Even the  DGP who was in the city recently did not make any effort to hold discussions with the committee representatives, he complained. Committee office bearers Ibrahim Kodijal, K Ashraf,  Hameed Kudroli and others were present.
