No action against cops over Kallaup incident

Mangaluru, Mar 22, 2018: No action  has been initiated against those police personnel who were responsible for resorting  to caning  of Congress workers at Kallaup during AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ullal Dargah on March 20, Tuesday. It was reported that the Congress activists who resorted to unruly behaviour were canned by the cops.

The incident had sparked criticisms  and rumours were afloat in social media that the Commissioner has suspended a police officer  and has issued  show cause notice to DySP.

However, police officials have now clarified that  no action has been taken against any police personnel.

It is said the incident took place after Congress workers reportedly boarded a police vehicle and were seen holding Congress flags.
