Nitte university enters into MoU with Norwegian University of Life Sciences

Mangaluru, January 8, 2019: The Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Oslo and Nitte (Deemed to be University) have entered into Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in academic programmes including joint research and student exchange.

 

Currently, the Nitte University Center for Science Education and Research and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Norwegian University of Life Science are jointly implementing a joint research project funded under Indo-Norway scientific cooperation by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the Norwegian Research Council.

A delegation from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine led by Prof. Dr. Oystein Evensen is currently visiting Nitte (Deemed to be University). A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Head of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof Oystein Evensen and Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor of Nitte (DU) on January 7 at Deralakatte Campus of Nitte (DU). Prof. Oystein Evensen expressed happiness to work with Nitte (DU) in the emerging area of One Health which recognises the interlinkages between animal health and human health. Zoonotic pathogens and antimicrobial resistance are major issues under one health and both Nitte (DU) and Norwegian University of Life Science will be working together on such issues under the MOU.
