Nitte University to host Nano Jatha-2019 on December 5

Mangaluru, Dec 3, 2019: Nitte University will play host to the Nano Jatha 2019, the nanotechnology and nanoscience event on December 5, 2019 at AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. The event is organized by the Department of IT and BT, Government of Karnataka, under the guidance of State’s Vision Group on Nanotechnology headed by Bharat Ratna Prof. C N R Rao, FRS, Linus Pauling Research Professor and Honorary President,  JNCASR.

This year NITTE (Deemed to be University) has been identified as one of the host institutes to organize the proposed Nano Jatha. For this Nano Jatha -2019 Coordinators from NITTE(Deemed to be University) are Prof.(Dr) Suchetha Kumari N., KSHEMA, Prof.(Dr) Biju Thomas, ABSMIDS, Dr. Marina Koland, NGSMIPS, and Dr. Sudharshan, NUCSER.

Nano Jatha 2019 will be inagurated by Dr. Sanjeeva Rai, Chief , Father Muller Research Center, Mangalore. Inagural function will be presided by Prof(Dr) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Alka Kulkarni, Registrar,  NITTE (Deemed to be University) welcoming the gathering

The eminent speakers delivering lectures on this occasion are - Dr. Harish Kumar Madhyastha, Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki, Japan and Dr. Sajan Daniel George, Professor & Coordinator – Center for Applied Nanosciences(CANs) Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka.

More than 300 delegates, UG,PG and Ph.D ’s have registered for Nano Jatha-2019 from Dental, Medical, Pharmacy , Nursing and Biological Sciences colleges in and arround Mangalore. The scientific lectures will be followed by a e-poster competion on Nano Technology for students and faculty. Post graduates and PhD Research Scholars.

Nano Jathas are being organized in selected places to create awareness and provide wide publicity to the proposed Nano Event. Dr. S. Krishna Prasad, Scientist G CeNS,  has taken up as programme  Coordinator  from  KSTePS.

To showcase the current knowledge in Nanoscience and technology, and to disseminate information about Bangalore India Nano, Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Soceity (KSTePS) is organising in different parts of the country, special pre-events comprising lectures by expert scientists in the field , video shows, interactive sessions with the audience and exhibition that has several demonstraions illustrating nanoscience and technology.
