Mangaluru, Aug 17, 2017: Nitte University, Mangaluru conducted Swachhata Pakwada programme from 1st to 15th August 2017. The Swachhata pledge was administered by Dr Alka Kulkarni, Controller of Examiner, Nitte University at Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mangaluru on 1st April 2017.

The constitutes colleges of Nitte University, K. S Hegde Medical Academy, A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research, Nitte Institute of Architecture, Nitte Institute of Communication conducted many programmes on rotation, which included seminars, competitions, cleanliness programme in and around the campus, awareness campaign in the adopted villages, beach cleaning etc.

The last day of the Swachhata Pakwada was conducted in KSHEMA campus where Dr M S Moodithaya, Registrar, Nitte University declared the institutions as “Clean Institutions”. He emphasised that the NSS volunteers respect the pledge maintain cleanliness in every aspects of a life including personal, professional and social attitude. He congratulated all the Programme Officers and the NSS volunteers for the work that was undertaken during this period.

Dr C. S Shastry, Principal of Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, administered the “Naya Bharath Sankalp” on the occasion of Independence day celebration to all the students, volunteers, faculty and invited guests.
