Mangalore, January 04, 2019: Spearhead Media Private Limited organized The Huddle 2019, a conclave to mark the completion of its five years in journalism.  Santosh Goenka, chief alchemist of Diagonal World was the keynote speaker and D. B. Mehta, President of Credai Mangalore Chapter was the chief guest. The event was hosted at The Senate Hall, Milgres Hall Complex in Falnir on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.

A grandson of Ramanath Goenka, the legendary founder of Indian Express newspaper, Santosh Goenka has a lifetime’s experience in media being associated with various ventures including Indian Express and Business India group. He has recently tied up with Spearhead Media as a mentor for the company.

In his keynote address, Santosh Goenka observed, “Every newspaper to be successful has to reach the reader.” He analyzed the opportunities and trends in media and gave new perspectives on how to tap these opportunities. “Today there are huge possibilities, and huge opportunity. It’s an exciting time for us.” He praised Spearhead Media’s motto to remain focused on positive journalism. “Every media is negative. We need to break this and become positive,” he said.

D. B. Mehta in his address said media has become very important in day to day living. “There was a time when no news was considered to be good news. Today with the advent of technology and social media, news travels almost instantly and we have become a news hungry nation.”

Valerian Dalmaida, an NRI investor in the venture and N. V. Paulose, its newly inducted director of innovations also spoke on the occasion.


Earlier the company’s 5th anniversary was celebrated with a cutting of the cake. Akki Kalu Venkatesh, a micro artist specializing in writing on rice grain amazed everyone with a live demo of his skill, which has earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.


Likhith Shenoy rendered the invocation. Brian Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Bharathi Shevgoor was the master of ceremonies.
