New SP Lakshmi Prasad assures people-friendly police stations

Mangaluru, Jan 02, 2019: B M Lakshmi Prasad, the new Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada district has said that the people friendly police station concept would be taken forward to ensure people  do not fear to approach police stations.

 

Speaking to reporters on January 2, Wednesday he also  said the beat system would be further strengthened,

On the sensitive nature of Dakshina Kannada district, the SP said there is no issue that cannot be handled. What is more important is a good relationship between the public and the police. This will help in solving half of the problem, he added.

An officer of the 2014 batch, 31 year old Lakshmi Prasad is from Kudremukh and has done his engineering in Computer Science from the KV College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He worked for an IT firm before joining the Police Department.

Prior to taking charge as SP of Dakshina Kannada, he was SP of the internal security division in Bengaluru.
