New Church building in Shakthinagar to be inaugurated, today Dec 15

Mangaluru, Dec 15, 2016: It was officially announced that the newly built church building ‘Mother of God’ at Shakthinagar in the city is set to be inaugurated by Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza on Thursday, December 15 (today). The inauguration at 5 pm, will be followed by Solemn Eucharistic celebration, said Parish Priest Fr Walter D’Souza  A felicitation programme and dinner has also been arranged as part of the inaugural ceremony of the church.

Mangalore Diocese Vicar General Rt. Rev. Msgr Denis Prabhu, Mangalore City Varado V Rev. Fr Victor Machado, MLA J R Lobo and other dignitaries are expected to take part in the inaugural session.  A ‘Vojem’ (contribution) procession was held as part of the inaugural event on December 12, from Kulshekar Church to Shakthinagar church.
