Negligence Driving: Man, 65 falls and dies while climbing bus

Udupi: August 13, 2015: An elderly man, who was trying to climb a bus, fell down from the footboard and died as soon as the bus started.

 

 

According to the police, Ramakrishna Kalkura (65) tried to board a private bus which was moving from Kundapur to Udupi at Akashvani bus stop at Brahmavar on Wednesday

But even as Mr. Kalkura had put one foot on the footboard, the bus driver started the bus. Mr. Kalkura fell from the bus and was severely injured.

He was soon rushed to Mahesh Hospital in Brahmavar and then shifted to Kasturba Hospital in Manipal, where he breathed his last.

The police said that rash and negligent driving by the bus driver is said to be the cause for the accident.

A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station and investigation is on.
