Naxals visit Shishila village ?

Belthangady, July 1, 2013  : Naxals are in the news again. Latest information  reveal that a group of five Naxals reportedly led by Vikram Gowda and Sundari, two most wanted Naxals have visited a couple of houses on Shishila-Sudegundi Road last week.

As per sources, the group left the place after having food on June 28, Friday. Here it is worth mentioning that the Naxal group had visited the village even last year.

But, villagers have remained tight lipped  fearing police harassment on the one hand and Naxal ire on the other. It has been reliably gathered that the Naxals had requested the villagers to  support their efforts to prevent the government from evicting original inhabitants from forest lands.

Villagers however say they have informed the police about the Naxal visit. Last year too Naxals had visited the village on July 10 and 13 and since then the ANF was in action in the area. A  Naxal named Dinker too had lost his life during an encounter later on.

 Meanwhile, some other villagers say some people who had come for road works have been wrongly identified as Naxals. Even the police are not sure about the Naxal visit, say reports.
