National Pharmacy Week rally held in city

Mangaluru, Dec 03, 2019:  In view of the National Pharmacy Week, a health awareness rally was launched by G R Education Trust founder president S Ganesh Rao. The rally was organised by Karavali Pharmacy College.

 

Speaking on the occasion, he said there is a need to create awareness on health-related issues among the public. Cleanliness and health are co-related. Diseases spread due to lack of cleanliness.

He said disposal of pharmaceutical drugs also poses a challenge. There is a need to create awareness on scientific disposal of pharmaceutical drugs.

Pharmacists should create awareness on the effective use of medicines and the side effects on the patients and gain their trust, he added.

The rally commenced from Ambedkar Circle and culminated at Nehru Maidan.

As a part of the pharmacy week, various competitions, rally, free health camp and blood donation camp were organised to create awareness among the students and the general public on the role of pharmacists on public health.

The valedictory of the pharmacy week will be held today December 3, Tuesday in a celebration mode.
