National Level IT Fest ’Joshiana 5.0’ inaugurated at SJEC

Mangalore, Sept 26, 2014: A two-day national level IT Fest ‘Joshiana 5.0’ was inaugurated at St. Joseph’s Engineering College, Vamanjoor on September 26, Friday under the aegis of ’TechnoCrats’, the students’ association of the Department of Computer Applications of the College.

Fr Denzil Lobo, Director of AIMIT and Rector St Aloysius College inaugurated the fest by lighting the lamp  along with other dignitaries.

In his address, Fr Lobo  called upon the engineering students to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship, which he said would go a long way in ensuring a bright future for them.

Fr Ajith Menezes, Director in-charge, SJEC presided over the function. Fr Rohith D’Costa,Assistant Director, SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalves, Principal, Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal, Anushree Raj, Head of the Department of MCA and  Naveen Poojari, President of TechnoCrats were among others present on the dais.

The official logo of TechnoCrats’ and the official Android app of the ’Joshiana 5.0’ were launched on the occasion.

Around 180 participants  representing 16 teams are participating in Joshiana which has a total of  nine  events Codigo Friki (Coding and Debugging), Producto De Imaginacio(Product Launch), Application Evolucion (App Development), ), IT Concorso (IT Quiz), Juego Recinto (Gaming) and Web Dibujo (Web Designing).
