Narcotic cell nabs notorious drug trafficker

Kasargod, Jan 02, 2015: A person identified as Riyaz (32) from Periyatadka  has been arrested by the narcotic cell police on the charges of drug peddling.

The arrested man had earlier given the cops a slip during raid at Kumble. The drug  traffickers had then escaped with nearly 4 kg of ganja after abandoning their Tata Sumo vehicle. The others who had then escaped included Ashraf from Arikkady, Aravind from Manjeshwara and  Mohammad from Kumble.

The arrested Riyaz is learnt to be wanted in  several cases of murder, looting and vehicle thefts. He had once earlier escaped from the Kannur Central Jail and was later arrested.
