Narayana Shetty to get ’ Malpe Samaga’ award

Udupi, March 25, 2016 :  In a joint statement  issued,  Tulukoota will organise a function to mark the presentation of the annual Malpe Ramadas Samaga Award and a Tulu Yakshagana performance at MGM College at 5 p.m. on  mach 27, Sunday.

Indrali Jayakar Shetty, president of Tulukoota, and Gangadhar Kediyoor, secretary, said that Tulukoota had been presenting the award annually for the last four years.  

The Malpe Ramadas Samaga Award would be given to senior Yakshagana artiste Peruvai Narayana Shetty this year.

The award would be presented by Janaki M. Brahmavar, president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.

The samaga memorial lecture would be delivered by Harish Joshi. The award presentation would be followed by a Tulu Yakshagana performance, “Devereg Arpane”.
