Devotees rushed to the spot from the nearby villages and protested against the mysterious disappearance of the sacred relic. Mr. Lokanath Boloor, their leader, said that there has to be an explanation for the sudden disappearance of the stone. Angry devotees informed the temple authorities that they will intensify their protests if the temple authorities fail to re-install the stone within 48 hour.

Mr. Lokanath told reporters that the land on which the Naga Kallu was located was sold by its owner and that the new owner had sent it to some unknown location.

The temple authorities assured the devotees that they will discuss the matter with the new owner of the land and will re-install the stone as early as possible.
