Na. Damodar Shetty bags prestigious Kendra Sahitya Academy Award

Mangaluru, Feb 16, 2016: Renowned veteran Kannada writer and scholar Na. Damodar Shetty has been chosen for the prestigious  Kendra Sahitya Academy Annual Award for the year 2015. Shetty is a former lecturer  of St. Aloysius College.

His Kannada translation of a Malayalam  Novel ’Kocharethi’ has been considered the Best Translation Work of the year 2015.

A total of 25 writers from different languages have been chosen for the Awards for the year 2015.

 The Award presentation ceremony is likely to be held in June or July in New Delhi.

Shetty will receive a cash of Rs 50,000 apart from a plaque as part of the award.
