NICO to host third Media Fest – Beacons 2016

Mangaluru Mar 3, 2016: Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), unit of Nitte University is proud to present its third Media Fest – ‘Beacons 2016’ on 8th and 9th of March for all the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students of all the streams across India at its Paneer campus in Deralakatte.

Addressing the press meet on March 3, Thursday at Press Club, Head of the institution Prof Raviraj Kini stated that the two days fest will be inaugurated by prominent film maker Mr. B.S Lingadevaru, Director of Award winning Kannada film ‘Naanu Avanalla Avalu’ on March 8, Tuesday.

“The fest which focuses on Film symposium as well as various competitions is expecting a participation of at least 15 colleges from in and around Karnataka. The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Mr Vishal Hegde, Pro Chancellor of Nitte University,” he added.

Speaking further about the events Faculty Coordinator, Ms Deekshitha Prashanth stated that along with film symposium by the resource person, the first day will also include competitions like Creative Writing, Movie Spoof, Product Launch, Radio Jockey, Jam, Standup Comedy and Poster Making.

“Mr. Natesh Ullal, a well known film maker from the coastal belt will be the resource person for second day Film Symposium on March 9, Wednesday. The second will also see the participation of students in Crisis Management, Face Painting, Media Quiz, Mock Press and Mime Show” she added.

Student coordinator Ms Dilsha Ravindran and Publicity Head Ms Wilma Serrao were present on the dais.
