NICO to host Ila 2019 celebrating World Earth Day

Mangaluru, Apr 20, 2019: The post-graduate corporate communication students of Nitte Institute of Communication in collaboration with Indian National Trust of Architectural and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is proud to present Ila 2019, celebrating World Earth Day on Monday April 22nd at 3pm in Kodialbail Guthu Mane, Mangaluru.

The main objective of the event is to remind ourselves and our peers, the importance of Mother Earth and her conservation. The event will be a one-day exhibition of the collected and approved entries of poems/micro- tales/photographs/cartoons/paintings submitted by the students and faculties of Nitte deemed to be University. The best entry in each category will be awarded with exciting cash prizes.


The theme of the event- “Earth Today”- serves as a means to build awareness about the various problems that are faced by the nature and also showcase the beauty of the nature when rightly conserved.


The event will be presided by Dr. Sateesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte deemed to be university. The keynote speech will be addressed by Prof.Dr. Smitha Hegde on the theme of the event while Dr. M. S. Moodithaya, Pro Vice Chancellor will preside as the guest of honour.

The event holds pride in being eco-friendly by avoiding all plastic materials and replacing it with biodegradable ones. It will also display a variety of stalls that have different types of herbal and nature-friendly products available for the public to take home. Ecopens by Pureliving which is embedded with Agastya tree seed will be oneof the attractive give-aways. The exhibition will be open till 8.30pm for public viewing after the inaugural function.
