Mangaluru, Jan 22, 2016: If the arrest of a youth suspected to be having ISIS links from a house at Permude on January 22, Friday morning by the NIA and local police, made much news, of late it has been learnt that the arrested youth intended to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi as was evident with the finding of at least six to seven photos of Modi in different postures, in his house.
In fact the NIA has raided 13 places across the nation on Friday and five arrests including that of Najamul Huda (25) in Permude, were made in Karnataka. Two were arrested from Chikkamagaluru and Tumakuru while two more were arrested in Bengaluru.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Chandra Shekhar informed that the local police had assisted the NIA in the operation as requested by the latter. He also requested the public to refrain from spreading rumours.
It has been gathered that NIA had been keeping a watch on Huda and that he was one of the most wanted ISIS recruiters in the world.
The operation : The operation took place at around 3.30 am when as many as 75 police personnel including 25 NIA officers surrounded Huda’s house and later entered the house. Huda was spotted speaking over phone and no sooner he saw the police he flung his cell phone which was eventually seized. Though Huda reportedly tried to escape, he was unsuccessful ad was arrested after police grilled him for nearly 45 minutes.
A laptop, five cell phones, two pen drives and a few DVDs have been seized from the house apart from a few photos of PM Modi.
Huda was also active in social media and hailed from Bihar. His family has been living in Mangaluru since 25 years. Huda who studied at KPT later joined an engineering College in Bengaluru to study chemical engineering but he dropped half way through.
His family sources said he was searching for a job and had even applied for a passport.
Huda’s father who spoke to media men, said they were unaware of Huda’s activities but knew he used to be speaking over phone most of the time. He also claimed that his son was not involved in any illegal activity. Even his sister said he used to be on Facebook most of the time.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that Huda told his mother that he was “sorry” and he did a “mistake” while he was being taken away by the police.

Mangaluru, Jan 22, 2016 : A young man from Bihar suspected to be having links with the terror outfit ISIS, was reportedly arrested from a house at Permude during the early hours of January 22, Friday by the National Investigative Agency and the local police.
The arrested person is Najamul Huda (25), an engineering student studying in Bengaluru.
Sources said he was trying to lure youth to join the dreaded terror organisation.
It has been gathered that the investigative agencies which first took him to a secret location for enquiry, have later left for Mumbai along with the arrested youth.
