NGO ‘Sponsor a square foot’ idea for 200-bed psychiatric nursing destitute home

Mangaluru, Dec 13,2016: Reports indicate that an NGO that runs two homes for the destitute in DK  district and has 135 residents picked up from the streets. Over 470 residents have been rehabilitated till date and sent to their homes after their recovery from all over India and Nepal.

   The NGO named ’White Doves’ has received Rs 33 lakh for the project, but has spent more than Rs 1 crore. The district administration has already granted license for psychiatric care and the foundation was laid in February this year. It is hoped to complete the project of 41,000 sq ft with 100 beds for men and 100 for women, in another two years’ time.
