Mysuru Regional Commissioner exhorts district officials on upcoming polls

Mangaluru, Mar 09, 2018:  The District Administration should strive to ensure that voters take active part  in the  upcoming Assembly elections.  Applications for inclusion in voters’ list must be carefully scrutinised, said Mysuru Regional Commissioner Shivayogi C Kalasada.

 

He was  addressing a meeting of officials at the DC office Meeting Hall on March 9, Thursday. Though the final electoral roll has been released on February 28, there is still scope for inclusion of  omitted names, he said  and urged the authorities to ensure maximum participation of senior citizens and  disabled people in the election.

Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil  who also spoke said  committees have already been formed for the election process and the same would be active once elections are announced.

SP Dr B R Ravikanthe Gowda said 64  booths  are in Naxal hit areas of the district and added higher security would be in place in such areas.

City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, Additional DC Kumar and other officials were present.
