Mysuru Divisional level Dasara Sports Meet inaugurated

Mangaluru, Sep 17, 2017: Sportspersons should never forget the spirit of sportsmanship as  participation in itself is more important than winning or losing,  said Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Mysuru Divisional level Dasara Sports Meet 2017-18 at Mangala Stadium on September 16, Saturday.

MLA of Mangaluru North Moidin Bava who was also present, said sport helps in promoting unity  by transcending all barriers.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil lighted the sports torch. Kasturi Panja, Vice President of DK Zilla Panchayat presided over the function.

Akshay Chauhan, outstanding sportsperson from Alva’s institution administered the oath to the participants.

Jayanthi Achar, Corporator, Manohar Shetty, INTUC District Unit President,  Khader Shah, District Information Officer and others were present.

Over 800 sportspersons from DK, Udupi,  Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Mysuru are taking part.

The tournaments will be held at Mangala Stadium and at the indoor stadium at Moodbidri.
