Mystery shrouds death of woman; charred body found in house at Maryhill

Mangaluru, Mar 5, 2015:  In a tragic incident,  the body of a 36 year old woman was found burnt in her house  at Maryhill on March 4, Wednesday evening.

 

 

The deceased woman is Vani who was the daughter of Nagaveni and Devadas couple. It has been gathered that Vani was unmarried and also jobless. It is not yet clear if she died in an accidental fire or whether it was a case of suicide.

The incident occurred when Vani’s parents had gone out to purchase medicines.  The mishap came to light when some labourers who were at work in a neighbouring construction site felt the strong odour of something burning inside the house. They had alerted the fire service department and the door was broken open only to find Vani charred to death.

Mangaluru Rural police are conducting the investigations.
