Muslim Central Committee urges for adequate police security during Bakrid

Mangaluru, Sep 8,2016 : A delegation of the Muslim Central Committee led by  KS Mohammad Masood, President of the Committee met   senior police officials including Police Commissioner of Mangaluru and the District Superintendent of Police  and submitted a memorandum requesting adequate police security, particularly in sensitive areas in  order to ensure peace during the  upcoming Bakrid festival on September 12.

The Committee which has condemned the recent abusive WhatsApp message on Kateel Temple, has requested the Police Department to track down the guilty and punish them. The Memorandum has further requested the  Police officials to undertake a thorough probe into the Praveen Poojary  murder case  and  bring the culprits to book. It also drew the attention of the authorities towards the alleged ploy by a few to pass the blame on Muslim youth  in the Praveen Poojary case.

The Committee has informed that it has written to   the Presidents and Khatibs of all mosques in DK and Udupi districts to ensure peace during the festival.
