Musical Fountain project at old Deer Park kicks off

Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2016:   The construction works of a musical fountain at the old Deer Park in Mangaluru were initiated by Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo on January 14, Thursday. Though the foundation for the project was laid on March 21, 2015 by   Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, the works did not kick-start for some reason.

Speaking on the occasion, Lobo said a sum of Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for the project by the Urban Development Department. Giving explanation for the delay in the commencement of the works, he said the preparation of the Detailed Project Report, technical design  as well as the tender process took time.

He said the construction works would be completed by June first week  and the Fountain will be inaugurated  the same month.

The musical fountain has been designed by Venkatesh Pai while Prabhaker Yeyyadi is the contractor. Apart from Musical Fountain, an amphitheatre and shopping kiosk will be set up on a  4 acre land.
