Murder of bank manager ; victim’s friend still at large

Mangalore, April 19, 2013 : Police are on the look out for one Mahesh, a youth from north  India, who has been absconding ever since  Anjana, Assistant Manager in Katipalla Branch of Syndicate Bank was found dead in his house  at Bejai Kapikad on the night of April 17, Wednesday. Anjana hailed from Kozhikode in Kerala.

The house where Anjana was found murdered was rented out to one Ravi, by the land lord Dolphy D’Souza. It is learnt, Ravi’s friend Mahesh also stayed in the same house and that Mahesh was known by different names like Krishna and Shyama. It is learnt, the absconding man was working as a cook  in a  food joint at Big Bazaar in Mangalore.


It was at around 2.30 am on Wednesday night  that the house owner Dolphy heard the screams of a woman and found Anjana struggling on the floor with a rope around her neck. Though she was immediately rushed to a private hospital, later she was shifted to Wenlock where she breathed her last.


It is learnt, Anjana was appointed to Syndicate Bank  on merit eight  months ago and reportedly was having an  affair with Mahesh. It is suspected that some misunderstanding has led to the murder.
