Murder of BJP worker sparks tension near Kannur

Kasargod, Sep 04, 2016:  The murder of a BJP worker near Iritti Tillangeri near Kannur on September 3, Saturday has sparked tension in the area.

Meanwhile, a bundh is being observed in Kannur district on September 4, Sunday as per the call given by the BJP to protest against the murder.

The deceased has been identified as Vinesh (27). He was shot dead by unidentified men. The BJP has blamed the CPI(M) for the incident.

 Earlier in the same area, a bomb was hurled at a DYFI activist named  Bijesh (28).

An injured Bijesh has been hospitalised.

Security has been stepped up in the area to avert untoward incidents.
